A very attractive 19th century mahogany inverted bow front side table, c.1880.

The table is very much in the George III taste, with later but historically appropriate brasses. The top boasts projecting corners with a single shaped frieze drawer flanked by fluted pilasters with stringed detailing all above four tapered fluted column legs.

There is a minor warp to the top causing the right hand projected corner to be slightly lifted from its base, otherwise the table is in a very good condition. The wood is of an exceptional colour throughout.

A striking piece of good proportions and unusual form.

A 19th portrait of large proportions depicting a seated lady wearing a black gown and fur shawl. Oil on canvas.

The work is naively painted but the artist has captured a charming expression in the sitter, almost on the cusp of a smirk. There is light craquelure throughout and apparent overpainting in areas. The work is housed in its original gilt wood frame which remains in a very good condition.

A decorative work of good proportions.
